The Ocean Township PTO ran another successful book fair in the commons this year at OTIS. There really was a lot to choose from for both students and staff alike. Along with students browsing and choosing what they wanted to purchase, a little fun was added to the event. When checking out at the register, you’d see two buckets with Mr. Amato donning a Colt’s jersey on one and Ms. Durand donning a Patriot’s jersey on the other, each their respective favorite teams. Students chose which bucket to put some change from their purchases in, and the loser, the one who had the least amount of money at the end of the book fair, would be shamed into wearing the other team’s jersey for the day on Friday. To make it even more fun, add in that the winner could throw a pie in the loser’s face during the morning announcements on the Ocean View. Also, one lucky student, Ryan Abrams, was able to throw a second unsuspected pie in Mr. Amato’s face as well. Over $100 was raised for the library, and it was a lot of fun, at least for Ms. Durand and Ryan.
