The IMC hosted its very first Conn-Expo on Tuesday and Wednesday, January 15th and 16th. 8th grade Connections classes are already beginning to wrap up, as the first half of the school year comes to an end. With this half year course came the Capstone Project, which was a student-chosen research project. Essential questions were developed, research was explored, posters created, QR codes and other techy enhancements were added, and presentations were rehearsed.

Overall, the turnout was impressive both during the school day and at the nighttime showcase. Parents, teachers, and students circulated and were able to learn about everything from hot sauce, motion sensor lighting, sign language, the Red Cross, psychological effects of cancer,  and occupational therapy to pollution in Deal Lake and the desire to rid the school of plastic straws. The projects were so varied and enlightening. We look forward to the spring semester Connections display and all of the new ideas that students develop.
