The Dance Club Is a Popular After School Club

Ms. Kuck is the advisor of the TOIS Dance Club. The dance club is for 6th through 8th graders who learn new routines and work on tricks. The goal of this club is to have a fun and safe environment for dancers to learn to love dance. Currently rehearsals are in the dance room attached to Mrs. Kernizan’s room but might be moving to a bigger space. Routines in the past have been performed at the Arts Cafe with the Spartan Dancers at the high school.

The Dance Club started because Mrs. Schultz saw a need for TOIS to have their very own dancers. Ms. Kuck says, ¨ Every person should have an opportunity to dance!¨ She plans to strengthen this club by creating new events to showcase the dancers’ hard work. She hopes she can work with other clubs as well.

As for Ms. Kuck herself, as a kid she grew up dancing. She danced competitively for many years at a studio in Red Bank called Kathryn Ballet. She went to Monmouth University where she danced at college level. In her free time she loves to cook, do yoga, and travel to different places.
