The Amazing Student Council Underway!

Emily Pham

In Ocean Township, there is a club called the Student Council that basically runs all the events in Ocean Township Intermediate school. The head teacher that runs the club, is Mrs. Nagy! Student Council has 29 students and they meet bi-monthly or as needed. Students can become a member of student council by getting nominated and elected. Then, when people get elected, they participate in food drives, Winter Spirit Week, Toys 4 Tots drive, the Halloween dance, the Winter Social, Spartan Day, and Almost Anything Goes.

Mrs. Nagy said, “I have always loved being able to foster relationships with students outside of academics in which I can help them grow as leaders. Also, it is fun to plan and organize school wide events and fundraisers that give back to our students and greater Ocean community.”

Members must maintain good academic and behavioral standards. They organize, advertise, and help run all the events. Student Council is a great way to be a better student and a great way to be role models.
